Fashions on the Field

2024 Commercial Club Albury Gold Cup Fashions on the Field Announcement

Albury Racing Club is excited to announce our revised format for Fashions on the Field competition for Commercial Club Albury Gold Cup race day.
Race day trends and expectations are evolving, and we want to ensure our Fashions competition engages with as many oncourse patrons as possible to increase participation.
There is still a dedicated Fashions precinct the same as previous years, so those interested in viewing the exciting and new fashions styles on the day, can still do so.
Whilst there are some changes to the original Fashions On The Field competition, we feel confident that we have found the right balance between participation and enjoyment, whilst keeping some of the traditions in place.
We believe our new competition is now more inclusive so that anyone on course can enter, without the fear of having to parade on the catwalk.
It’s true that our younger patrons are more focused on enjoying the social side, so with that in mind, we are aiming to provide more flexibility around entering the competition.
There’s no need to pre-register and no set time to enter, however, our professional photographer will still capture every entrant at the very best.
We hope that our patrons will enjoy this more relaxed approach.
On the day, our competitor photos will be whittled down to a top 10 in the 2 categories, Best Dressed and Best Headwear which are open to all genders.
As well as the judge’s choice on the day, our new competition will include an online component where the public vote in the days after the Carnival.
We are also pleased to announce Bronwyn Robertson as our Fashions Ambassador. Bronwyn shares the passion for race day fashion, and we are excited and privileged to have her involved.
